Meet The Founder – Luke Angelo Fruttauro
Hi, my name’s Luke and I’m the founder of Angelo Web Design – a professional web design agency in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. I founded the business in 2021, after previously working for another local web agency.
Away from the computer, I have a passion for boxing and football. I’m also a long-suffering Leeds United supporter, so I’ve had to learn to be patient… good things come to those who wait.
My Story So Far
Where It All Began
I built my first ever website back in 2010, aged just 13. My first websites were centred around online gaming, and the FIFA franchise. I created websites for gaming tournaments and leagues, where people could compete against each other. One of my websites amassed over 3,000 members, and generated revenue from Google Ads.
Self-Taught Skills
I was hooked on website design and development right away, and spent countless hours studying it online. Some of my most valuable learning experiences were from YouTube videos.
I continued to study IT and web design as part of my college courses. I knew I wanted to make a career out of building websites, and I dedicated myself to strengthening my skills. I achieved excellent grades at college, and received offers from several universities.
University
I was accepted onto my dream course at the University of Huddersfield, to study Web Technologies. This degree taught the fundamentals of both front-end and back-end website development. It was during this course that I first started using WordPress.
Overall the course was a great experience, I further developed my skills in an academic environment. I also met tons of great people and made friends for life.
My first job
Straight after my course finished, I started applying for web design jobs in the local area. I received several job offers straight away, and chose to work for a local web design agency in Huddersfield. It was a fantastic place to work, and I developed my skills to a high standard. I got the chance to work with businesses from a vast range of industries, and strengthened my communication skills.
Founded Angelo Web Design
I started my business towards the end of the Covid pandemic, and began trading in April 2021. It was still an uncertain time for everybody, with government restrictions looming over the country. Luckily the web design industry was one of those least affected by the pandemic, because we can work remotely without any issues. Many businesses got a new website built during the pandemic, as they couldn’t rely on brick and mortar sales due to restrictions.
Expansion
Business remained at a consistent level until 2025, I worked with hundreds of clients across a wide range of industries. This further developed my skillset, and I built specialist knowledge in new areas.
During 2025/26 my sales more than doubled compared to previous periods – which is fantastic growth. This is due to a combination of factors. I’ve become a trusted name with installers who are looking for a website, and continue to work with more of them.
My Vision For The Future
I’m now focused on helping small businesses grow, by turning their website visitors into paying customers. Combining my technical expertise and industry knowledge, I aim to build long-term relationships with businesses.
I’m also focusing on developing custom web applications for installers – like instant quote tools and job management apps. Instead of just providing a standard website, I help businesses automate and streamline their entire sales process. It’s an exciting time to be a web developer, and I love solving problems for business owners across the UK.
